Planning Board to Hold Public Hearing on Annual Review of Growth Management Ordinance

The East Kingston Planning Board will hold a public hearing on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 7pm at the Pound School, 41 Depot Road to conduct its annual review of the town’s Growth Management Ordinance.

Article XIII – Growth Management Ordinance was originally adopted in 1998 and replaced in 2007 under the provisions of RSA 674:22.  The ordinance serves as a planning tool to assist the Planning Board in managing growth at a rational, absorbable pace, to ensure it is compatible with the East Kingston Master Plan and Capital Improvement Plan, and to ensure the town’s municipal services and resources have sufficient capacity to meet the needs of this growth.  The ordinance requires the Planning Board track annual growth patterns and conduct an annual review, including a public hearing, to establish the need to retain or revise it.

Members of the public are welcome to attend.

See attached ordinance with updated tables and data that the board will review as part of their consideration.
